Q:  How easy is the system to install, does it take a long time?

Answer

Installation is easy using HeatProfiles unique self aligning system
and with no special skills , tools or equipment necessary our radiant
system can easily be installed by most people.

Q:  How much does the system cost and how can I find out?

Answer

HeatProfile full central heating systems are tailor made for each
project, but as a rough guide, the cost will be somewhere between
that of a quality radiator system and an underfloor system

Q:
  Why is radiant heat better?

Answer

Radiant heat has a great many advantages over radiator convective systems

Q: How does this system compare to an underfloor radiant system ?

Answer

Underfloor heating may be well suited for use under hard, cold surfaces
or in large open plan commercial-type environments where a stone or tiled
"cold finish" is employed. However other considerations should be taken into
account - Under floor heating systems have a high water content and being buried
within the floor slab make it "sluggish" to respond to temperature demand.
It can be difficult to maintain; i.e., tracing and repairing leaks can be time
consuming and costly. Another consideration is that the life span of a plastic
pipe embedded in concrete still has to undergo the 'test of time' and could
well suffer the consequences of ageing.

To help you compare the two systems, we have listed below our own
"considerations" and notional 'score points' out of ten.

The figures stated imply a factor judgement based on our experience and
the degree of importance that we attach to each aspect. You will know
what is most important to you. This is our judgement.

Q:  I have an unusual shaped room can the panels be curved or angled?

Answer

HeatProfile can be supplied in curved sections to order so rooms which
have a curved wall are fully catered for. Angular walls can also be fitted
by HeatProfile system

Q:  I have patio doors in my room, what happens?

Answer

A patio door opening (downdraughts, condensation) can easily be heated by
fitting a HeatProfile panel in front of the opening, either flat on the floor or in
a shallow recess finished flush with the floor. The panel is very strong and can
easily withstand foot traffic . Various tread materials are also available for that
final finish.

Back

Q:  How do you control the heat output?

Answer

Both Gas and Electric HeatProfile systems are very responsive (proven by test)
and are controlled by thermostats in all rooms.

Back

Q:  Surely the electric system costs a lot to run?

Answer

HeatProfile electric radiant skirting system is a very efficient system
when compared to other leading electrical alternatives and of course
off peak electricity tariffs can be used to advantage, dependent on
building fabric type for thermal storage.

Back

Q:  Do I need a special boiler and is it compatible with other systems?

Answer

No you do not need a special boiler. Although a full central heating system
HeatProfile system can 'dove tail' into your current system and is ideal
for new extensions and conservatories and can mix and match easily
with your current system of heating.

Marine heating canal boat heating barge boat heating
HeatProfile is ideally suited in marine heating applications; i.e. canal boats where the system, due to it's low profile makes for a brilliant concept in canal boat heating.

Q:  Does the water system have much carcass piping?

Answer

No compared to convectional radiators and under floor heating systems
a HeatProfile system has the least; enabling faster and easier installation.

Back

Q: Is the white finish the only option? and can I paint the skirting?

Answer

The panels are white powder coated ensuring a very durable finish
for a long life. Other colours are available as well as special finishes such as
wood, marble, etc. to order . The skirting can be also be painted with a suitable
conventional paint.

Back

Q: Is skirting heating FULL central Heating or just back up?

Answer

The HeatProfile system is a full central heating system and provides
more benefits than other available systems.
HeatProfile may also be fitted into your current system and thus the
benefits of the system can be gained in new extensions, conservatories etc.

Back

Q: Will it save me money in the long term?

Answer

Yes, HeatProfile system has been proven to save on average between
10% to 20% on running costs, plus the operational life far exceeds that of
a radiator system

Back

Q: Can I put a decorative moulding on top of the panel ?

Answer
Yes you can put a decorative wooden or MDF moulding on top of the panels

Back

Q: Doesn't the skirting heating just heat the walls?

Answer

Absolutely
NOT! The unique skirting panels are an advanced engineered design,
the majority of the heat is designed to radiate out from the panel and internal
shaped profiles at angles of 30° to provide optimum all round even heating -
much more so than convectional radiators. see
British Gas report
Only a small % of heat actually radiates from the top of the panel, the optimum
amount of heat radiates out evenly from the panel from floor to ceiling.
