British Gas tested the HeatProfile system and
compared it to a conventional radiator system in
a special environmental room at the University
of Portsmouth.
They found that the HeatProfile radiant heating
system used far less energy while producing
more - even temperatures from floor to ceiling.
This resulted in higher comfort levels, a cleaner,
healthier environment and lower operational costs.
Benefits of HeatProfile Radiant Heating Systems
Energy Conservation
Radiant heat distributed at low level around a room
produces even temperature conditions throughout, so
eliminating wasted heat at ceiling level. Made of
aluminium and with a much lower water content than
a radiator or underfloor heating system, HeatProfile is
far more responsive, enabling it to work in close
harmony with 'free' heat gain, from solar, body heat
and appliances. Individual room temperature control
also assists in minimising energy use. Savings in the
region of 10% to 20% have been achieved with HeatProfile.
Why radiant warmth is better
Radiators create hot and cold regions
Conventional radiators work by moving air around
the room, causing regions of hot and cold air. This
process is called convection and it causes dust
particles, carpet fibres and bacteria to circulate
freely, a less healthy environment is created.
HeatProfile produces an even temperature
throughout the room
HeatProfile distributes heat at a low level around
the perimeter of the room promoting an even
temperature from floor to ceiling without cold spots
or draughts.
As there are far less air currents, dust, carpet fibres
and bacteria are not carried around the room.

heating and radiant heating.
